Gilles BERTHET is a contemporary art adviser and organizer of artistic events. He was born on 30 April 1963 in Valence (France), the son of Michèle NAUD and Michel BERTHET. He presently lives in the South of France.

He studied computer science at the EFREI (French school of electronics) in Paris from where he received his engineer degree. He then attended the ESG (Higher School of Management) from where he graduated in 1992.

Soon afterwards he changed his field of interest to art, culture and travel. To achieve his objectives he worked for Nouvelles Frontières, a well-known travel agency, as a tourist guide and travelled in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and South East Asia.

In 1995, he settled in Mauritius and set up “Mango Beach”, a select tourist agency offering luxury rentals of villas with a view on the ocean.

While looking for business opportunities in Madagascar he created a line of clothing and accessories made from local production. After meeting the director of Minas, a company specialized in commercial assistance in Australasia, they became partners and set up the Minas Group which targeted the fields of communication, printing and recruitment of executives. Moreover, the group became the official correspondent of the Eco Austral, an economic magazine for the region and represented the COFACE, a French insurance organization for export credit. He also founded the brand “Made in Madagascar” to develop industrial and cultural relation between the two countries thus boosting investment and business.

In 1998, in Saint Denis (Reunion Island), he created “Publi Service”, a communication agency. The clients included contemporary art artists whom he advised to design their logos and print their documents. The development of this activity led to sponorsorship and to a collaboration with the hotel “Boucan Canot” for the organization of art exhibitions and to the creation of the first “portail” of the island’s artists.

In 2004, back in France, he created Euro-Talents, an association which promoted new talents and collaborated with important collectors during biennials and international fairs. Solicited as adviser he decided to put his professional experience at the service of emerging artists and creators.

In 2008, capitalizing on the international reputation of the Cannes festival he presented in collaboration with “VideoFormes” at the Ritz Carlton Hotel the “International Art Show Cannes,” a succcessful exhibition of art photos and videos during which he made many  “World Art Associates”. He started to coach collectors and to organize events targeting the luxury industry.

In 2012, after being solicited by the president of the EFREI Alumni Association to initiate a cultural activity he founded the Art Club des Grandes Ecoles which offers to alumni and new students an initiation to contemporary art.

He is presently working on “Z Collectors Club House” a project to create in the center of metropolitan areas clubs dedicated to cultural activities and open 24 hours a day. The objective is to give international personalities of art design and of the luxury industry the opportunity to meet new collectors.
